Shelley is originally from Atlanta, Georgia. She has dedicated her entire career to Theatre and its’ cultural influence on society. She loves the stories and the effect Theatre and the Arts can have on making the world a more beautiful and empathetic place. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a double minor in Music and Spanish from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She worked as a professional actor and fight choreographer in Atlanta for two years with Stone Mountain Park, Georgia Shakespeare Festival, Lionheart Theatre Co, and many others before she moved to Hattiesburg Mississippi to receive her Masters of Fine Arts in Theatrical Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2012. She worked with Southern Arena Theatre during her summers and began to work with professional theatre companies in New Orleans upon graduation. She has worked with many professional theaters such as Southern Rep, Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts, New Orleans Shakespeare Festival, Le Petit and many community theatre on the North Shore such as 30byNinety and Playmakers. She has been a Talented Theatre Teacher with St Tammany Parish for the majority of her career and enjoyed creating beautiful work with her beloved students throughout the years. She is a *Member of Actor’s Equity Association and a Professional Fight Choreographer with accreditations with the Society of American Fight Directors and Dueling Arts International. Shelley is honored and humbled to be chosen to work alongside Jill Lane to help the North Star Theatre and Cultural Center bring professional theatre and events back to the North Star Stage in order to bring another creative and educational outlet to the North Shore audiences.
